AI Effectiveness Snapshot

AI describes Whippet Digital accurately when asked by name. It names Whippet in 1 of 18 answers when buyers ask for an agency.

We asked ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Mode three questions a B2B SaaS marketing leader might ask, three times each, from New Zealand. Every platform described Whippet Digital correctly by name, but category and problem answers went to Omniscient Digital, Directive, First Page Sage and others.

What we found

Five things to know

  • AI knows what Whippet does. Asked about Whippet Digital by name, all six platforms described a SaaS-focused AI search and SEO agency, and each cited whippetdigital.com.

  • Category answers go to other agencies. Asked for the best SEO and GEO agency for B2B SaaS, the platforms named Omniscient Digital and Directive on five platforms each. Whippet appeared once in 18 answers, in a ChatGPT answer, as a local option "if you're in New Zealand".

  • Your content is used without the credit. Perplexity cited the blog post "How to get your SaaS brand appearing in ChatGPT answers" in 2 of 3 problem answers, but never named Whippet. No platform named any agency in its problem answers.

  • Directory pricing doesn't match your website. whippetdigital.com publishes no pricing. DesignRush lists a $1,000 to $10,000 minimum budget and $240 an hour, Zyppy lists $5,000 to $10,000 a month, and one Claude answer quoted $1,000 to $5,000 a month.

  • AI hedges on independent proof. Claude called the testimonials "mostly self-reported" and Copilot advised verifying claims and asking for references before hiring.

AI Mode used keyword versions of each prompt. Copilot has no public API, so it was run by hand in a browser, three times per prompt.

Seeing a different answer when you try these yourself? AI answers change with location, account history and from one run to the next. We ran each prompt three times with no search history, set to New Zealand where the platform allows, so these results show the typical answer a new buyer sees. Your own searches are shaped by your history with your brand; your buyers' are not. We're happy to rerun any prompt live with you.

Likely gaps

What is holding visibility back

Based on public signals. Search Console and analytics access would confirm these.

Missing from the lists AI builds answers from

High impact

Category answers drew on agency rankings and listicles from DerivateX, LoudFace, Rock The Rankings, First Page Sage and industry blogs. Whippet is likely missing from the lists these platforms trust for "best SaaS SEO and GEO agency".

Cited content that doesn't carry the brand

High impact

Your post on getting SaaS brands into ChatGPT answers is retrieved for the problem question, but answers reuse the advice without naming Whippet. The page likely lacks first-party data or named frameworks that AI would need to attribute.

Directory pricing conflicts

Medium impact

DesignRush lists a $1,000 to $10,000 minimum budget and $240 an hour. Zyppy lists $5,000 to $10,000 a month. Your website says engagements start with a scored baseline and publishes no pricing.

Framed as a local option

Medium impact

The one category mention positioned Whippet for companies "in New Zealand", not for SaaS companies selling globally, even though this test ran from New Zealand.

Little independent proof in answers

Watch

Brand answers cited whippetdigital.com, DesignRush, Zyppy and LinkedIn. No review platform such as G2 or Clutch, and no third-party case study, appeared in any brand answer.

Brand facts are consistent

No issue

Every platform described the SaaS focus and the GEO and SEO services correctly, and none described an outdated offer.

Where to start

Quick win

Make directory pricing match how you sell

Your website publishes no pricing and starts every engagement with a scored baseline, but DesignRush lists a $1,000 to $10,000 minimum budget and $240 an hour, and Zyppy lists $5,000 to $10,000 a month. One Claude answer quoted an older $1,000 to $5,000 monthly figure. Update both listings to one consistent starting point, such as the AI Visibility Audit, so AI repeats the same entry offer everywhere.

Then, the bigger shifts

  • Get named in agency shortlists. Be recommended when SaaS leaders ask AI for an SEO and GEO agency, not only when they ask about Whippet by name.

  • Turn citations into credit. Make the content AI already retrieves carry the Whippet name, data and frameworks, so answers that use it name you.

  • Give AI independent proof. Build reviews, client results and coverage on sources AI trusts, so answers stop hedging on self-reported proof.

The full plan sets out every action in priority order, with owners and timings.

Method
  • Tested 3 November 2026. Each prompt was run 3 times per platform.
  • Answers were collected through each platform's API, set to New Zealand where the platform allows (ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode), without account history or personalisation.
  • Copilot was run three times per prompt in a signed-in browser session from New Zealand.
  • AI answers vary between runs. Treat these results as a directional snapshot. Ongoing tracking uses repeated runs to measure mention rates.
  • Gaps are inferred from public pages, review sites and AI citations, not from Whippet Digital's internal data.
