We were approached by a new company director as he was dissatisfied with how their multiple websites were performing. Website visitors were almost zero and there were no leads coming from their digital efforts.
The websites had been created on Bitrix24 and each one had a different exact match domain. This used to be a black hat tactic and there are still some consultants who are out there recommending it. Previous ownership had been taken in by one such consultant.
We reviewed the websites and found poor quality content, no backlinks and poor user experience. We recommended building a new site on their main .co.nz domain and we consolidated all of the spammy domains with a comprehensive 301 redirect strategy across multiple domains.
The result is a single high quality site, excellent content, higher authority scores and healthy growth in visitors from paid and organic strategies.
